Dietary problem...fast food causing high blood sugar?
I am a college student and I commute. I stop at a fast food restaraunt for lunch 5 days a week between classes, since the cafeteria food isn't that great and the food sits out all day...ew. I usually get a grilled chicken sandwich or wrap along with an ice cream milkshake. I get a burger chicken nuggets fries once or twice a week. Is it still healthy or could it be the cause of my high blood sugar which is 96?
At what point does high blood sugar become an immediate threat that needs prompt medical attention?
I was recently diagnosed with gestational diabetes. I have been monitoring my sugar levels for a little over a year now anyways, because I was pre diabetic insulin resistant. Anyways, my insurance will no longer carry my test strips and I need to switch to a different brand, so I am out for the weekend. I feel blind not being able to check my sugars 2 hrs. post meals. Although they normally never get over 180 or so, I still feel paranoid that without my strips it could shoot up to the 300's or something. I was wanting to know if anyone could tell me what point does hyperglycemia become a life threat? 200, 300, 400, how high? I keep a pretty strict diet, so the chances of it getting over 200 are slim, considering that a dose of 100g carbs only brought my sugar to 240 an hour later. Still I am concerned. My doctor seems to think I will be fine until monday without checking myself. In fact she says I check to often. I just want to make sure I never develop horrible diabetic complications. I know there are not really any " symptoms" besides thirst, hunger, and frequent urination. So, my question is When I do get my strips and I check my sugar, when does it become an emergency that would require immediate medical attention. I hear of people having to go to the hospital for insulin drips and such, but I believe they were in the high 500 600 range. I just want to put my mind at ease and know when to take action.Thanks

my dad just got back his lab results and found out that he has really high blood sugar and cholesterol...i love him and i really want to know if he will be okay. we have history of high cholesterol in our family, actually my grandfather had two strokes, died of the second one. he is very stubborn about not eating beef, so please help me. all i want to know is if he is going to be okay what is the highest that you can get to until it clogs your arteries and what i can do to help. if you respond thank you, and god bless you all.
Why my mother has high blood sugar even after using insulin at 2 times a day.?
my mother has 205 blood sugar in the morning at 6 am and in the night at 11.30 pm she has high blood sugar as per checking on machine recently.sometimes it appears 136 and 235.she has taken 20mg insulin with breakfast and 22 mg in the night at the time of dinner.please suggest if someone has any solution.
High blood sugars won't go away...help please, I'm scared!!?
Ever since Friday of last week my blood sugar level has been above 300. I am 17 and I've been well controlled for the past few years. I'm rarely ever high unless it's a special occasion such as my birthday. I've been a diabetic, type one, since i was four years old. I am on the lantus solarstar pen 28 units before bed and on the novopen for one unit per every 8 carbs plus corrections if needed rarely . I'm kindof afraid to mention this to my parents right now, for my bad diabetes control in my early teen years. Only way my insulin works is if i take five times the amount i would normaly take.My question is what can i do? Did my body stop reacting to insulin?I tried a new pen of each, same results, and the pens are not expired.Anyone else go through this?Any way to help lower it better?Could a possible pregnancy be the reason??My period is due soon and i have had unprotected sex, and I know, don't yell at me, it was wrong and i risked a lot by doing that, and I'm sorry. Could that stress play a part in it?
High blood sugar damage?
For about 4 weeks now, I've had this bright pink circular rash under my armpit that gets worse with moisture and it just won't go away. I've tried rubbing alcohol, bleach, and antifungal cream to no avail.What could this be? Sometimes when I look at it closely, I can see cracks within that part of my skin. Could it be something serious?And also, I wanted to know, what kind of damage can high blood sugar do to the body?Thanks.
High blood sugars = extra dreams?
I don't dream very often.But recently, for about 5 days in a row, I had an experience like I never had before. Extremely vivid, violently vivid dreams each night, and MULTIPLE dreams per night.There wasn't much that was going on in my life nor were the dreams really about thhings like that anyway. All I could think of to explain this was perhaps my recently abnormal blood sugars. I ran out of my over night kind that really helps me my blood sugar levels down so for about 2 weeks or so my blood sugar was through the roof.Never heard of any correlation before. Is there?

High Blood Sugar!!! Really concerned!?
My blood sugar was 125 in a recent blood test. No fasting,,etc. In a follow up appt., he pricked my finger and it was 90. Should I be scared of diabetes? I'm adopted, so don't ask about family history....Thank you for no answers......surely there is someone out there that has borderline high blood sugar. I'm looking at type 2. Any thoughts or suggesions??????
