Smoking marijuana and type 1 diabetes?
does anyone know what effect, if any, smoking marijuana may have on a diabetics blood sugar levels. My brother in law was just taken to emergency by ambulance yesterday with a reading of 500...it was 457 and he took his insulin and half hour later it was 500..instead of going down it went up. My husband insists its from his marijuana smoking but im not so sure about that and i cant find anything on internet that actually answers that specific question....please someone who know respond

Hey people i am 15 with type 1 diabetes. I am only 4'11 and that disturbs me. But wat gets at me the most is my family doesn't understand what i go threw why i get so mad when they say its not your fault your diabetic well i think it is and it makes me so depressed sometimes i want to just wanna beat someone with a baseball bat. Some nights i think what would it be like if i wasn't diabetic and then i get sad and i start to cry because i ask god why me?Btw this has ruined many relationships for me because i couldnt spend time with my girl friend or i had to check my bg and it was high or low then we couldnt go out
Please help wrong diagnoses Type 1 Diabetes?
Hello,I was Recently diagnosed by the hospital of having type 1 diabetes... is what they said. I went into the hospital because my sister is diabetic so my dad check my sugar level and read High Glucose, meaning over 600. The hospital took blood for lab testing and i got the A1C test back which was 10 % average 250 after being on insulin for a month went back in and my A1C was down to 8 %. then we got clear as mud news. My Islet cell antibody test all came back negative. they still want me to continue with insulin because it helps regulate. Any ideas of what this could be?My sugar levels suddenly have been running low when i sleep and all day so they have decreased by 24 hour Lantus to 12 where i started at 25. and im still running low at night. during the day i was at 1 unit for every 15 grams and now am down to 1 to 17.Well other that the fact i have diabetes i'm a completely healthy 17 year old boy. I am 5'10" 145lbs.
Type 1 diabetes and losing weight...?
I have type 1 diabetes, I was just diagnosed last year when I was 17. I want to lose about 25 pounds my Dr. said that will help with increasing my insulin sensitivity, even though I am not actually " overweight" , but if I lose 25 30 pounds I will still be in the healthy weight range. It's so hard How do I do this? ? It seems if I exercise then my blood sugar drops too low, if I eat a " healthy" meal of salad rice & beans, my blood sugar goes up too high, and I, after cutting calories by about 300 a day and exercising almost an hour a day 5 days a week have lost only 2 pounds in 2 months It's getting so depressing. Help?

I am 21 years old and I want to apply to local police agencies in Maryland, particularly Prince George's County and Howard County. I have had Type 1 Diabetes since I was 13 and I have always had excellent control a1c between 5.0 6.0 . I have done research on whether diabetes will disqualify me from getting a job and the results seem to be mixed. Any information or links references on the topic would be a huge help.

Hey i just turned 21 last month an i go to the bars an clubs wit my friends....i usually drink the same thing everytime....Start of with a Shot of patron en hav 2 or 3 MGD 64's.....MGD is low in carbs 2.4.....usually hav a ok buzz....but jus wondering if this is bad....i constantly checkin my sugars an eatin somtin wit the drinks.....my sugers r usually between 100 140 wen i out...jus get nervous cuz i was diagnosed almost a year ago so it new to me but i still wanna go out an hav fun....thanks
